Commercial modelling
Advertising products can be financially rewarding and makes up a large amount of the work on offer to models with companies always needing to promote their products
This type of modelling refers to modelling which is done to promote certain products. There will be a huge range of products which are advertised so expect to have extremely varied requirements form the clients. It is important to be with a good agency who you trust as they will be able to target specific products and brands which will be appropriate for you and not send you to lots of pointless castings where you will never be what the client is looking for. Commercial work can take the form of TV adverts, magazine and print advertising and online advertising. Fees can vary depending on the medium and also the deal struck by you or your agency. Some TV work will have the option of receiving a flat one off fee or a royalties type pay structure where your pay will be based on the number of showings of a particular advert. The latter may sometimes be more of a gamble but it is a good idea to get some professional advise before making these sorts of decisions. In this type of modelling the product is the star and you are merely facilitating its exposure, so for the very top models they will certainly have to leave their ego at the door!
