These are the types of modelling often seen as the most glamorous and rewarding area of the modelling business. For most models the area of catwalk modelling will not offer the main source of income and employment as it uses few models infrequently. Fashion modelling is a broader field and offers work in fashion magazines, advertising and brand campaigns. This is quite a lucrative area of modelling and offers more hope than the highly specialised world of Catwalk modelling. Both Catwalk and fashion modelling are hard work, with long hours and a need to be punctual and focused throughout jobs. You are only as good as your last job so you have to keep up a level of professionalism for many years to achieve success.

Most work in both of these areas will be through agencies so it is important that you have got yourself with a good agency which knows how to market you and gain employment for you. There will often be castings for work even as an established model and if you are just starting out it may be an idea to attend open castings to get an idea of where you might fit or what will be your best route into the industry.
